COVID-19 – Response to Ontario’s Emergency Declaration
The County is aware of the recent announcement that Ontario Premier Doug Ford has declared a State of Emergency in the province. The County of Huron has reviewed the orders resulting from this emergency declaration and is currently well within what is required.
COVID-19 – County of Huron Offices Closed to the Public
All County of Huron offices are closed to the public, effective by end of day March 16, 2020 until further notice. County service delivery will continue. Closures will be reviewed on March 30, 2020 and further messaging will be provided regarding public access to County offices after that time.
Notice to Public Regarding Provincial Offences Act (POA) Matters
All Provincial Offences Act matters scheduled from Monday, March 16, 2020 through to and including Friday, April 3, 2020 will be adjourned and rescheduled to a later date. If you have a matter scheduled during this time, you do not need to attend court.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information – Huron County Services
Please be advised of the following measures that are effective immediately. The Huron County EarlyON Child and Family Centres operated by the County of Huron are closed. As a precaution, all special events are cancelled for the Huron County Museum & Historic Gaol and the Huron County Public Library Branches. There is limited visitation permitted for the Huronview and Huronlea Homes for the Aged. All Huron County offices will remain open until further notice.
Award of Merit for Barrier-Free Design
The Huron County Accessibility Advisory Committee is happy to announce the opening of their annual awards program. The purpose of the awards program is to celebrate organizations and individuals who are working to build a more inclusive society. These people make a difference in the lives of thousands of Canadians living with a disability. The deadline for nominations will be February 29, 2020.
