Planning Procedures

Land use planning means managing our land and resources. It helps decide where homes and factories should be built in our communities, where parks and recreation centres should be located, and where roads, sewers and other essential services should be provided.

Explore the Planning Procedures Manual to find the information you need for land use planning. It provides a comprehensive summary of the legislative and policy framework that guides the decisions and actions of the Corporation of the County of Huron and its lower tiers with respect to planning and regulatory responsibilities.

This manual does not contain forms for planning applications in Huron County. Planning application forms are available from each lower tier municipal website, their respective offices, or on this website.

While the information provided in this document is accurate as of June 1, 2016, the Planning Act should be consulted for more specific direction and to ensure applications are being processed according to the most current regulations.
