Huron County families will benefit from Ontario’s Better Deal investment in childcare.
For participating childcare centres, the Ontario Better Deal promises to reduce child care fees through four steps of reduction over several years for an average of $10 a day per child by September 2025. The County of Huron Children’s Services Team is working with local childcare providers who wish to participate in the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care Plan.
Emergency Child Care available for school-aged children of health care and other eligible frontline workers.
The County of Huron Children’s Services Division and partner agencies are providing free Emergency Licensed Child Care for school-aged children of health care and other eligible frontline workers starting January 10. Visit www.huroncounty.ca for more information.
One-time Licensed Childcare Fee Relief for Huron County families for the month of October.
To assist families accessing licensed childcare in Huron County, the County of Huron Children’s Services department is covering the childcare fees that families pay for the month of October, 2021. This support to families is being made available by utilizing funds received by The Ministry of Education from the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada.
Home Child Care Development Program Aims to Support Child Care Space Shortage

New Child Care Centre for Families in Hensall and Area
he County of Huron, Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) and London Bridge Child Care Services are pleased to announce the opening of a Preschool Child Care program at Bluewater Coast Elementary School. The program opened at the beginning of October.

The County of Huron would like to recognize and thank all Early Childhood Educators (ECEs), staff of child care centres, and Home Child Care providers for the commitment, hard work and education provided to the youngest citizens of Huron County.
