The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC) provides funding for Long-Term Care Homes. The amount paid by residents for their accommodation is called a “co-payment.”
The monthly rate or “co-payment” amount is determined by the length of time a person stays in a Home. Long Stay refers to permanent accommodations for an indefinite period of time.
