Human Resources provides a wide variety of human resource functions to all County departments and members of Council, promoting best practices and ensuring legislative compliance. Responsibilities cover recruitment and selection, orientation, training and development of County employees, and benefit and Workplace Safety and Insurance Board administration.
Human Resource staff research, develops, and direct consistent implementation of human resource policies and practices throughout the County.
Staff coordinate Health and Safety initiatives which promote accident prevention, wellness and generally improve awareness of safety measures across all County work sites. Mandatory training to meet provincial requirements, such as WHMIS training, is provided by the County.
Human Resources facilitate labour and employee relations, plus collective agreement administration. The County of Huron strives to provide fair, competitive compensation for both union and non-union employees.
