The County of Huron, Avon Maitland District School Board (AMDSB) and London Bridge Child Care Services are pleased to announce the opening of a Preschool Child Care program at Bluewater Coast Elementary School. The program opened at the beginning of October.
In the summer of 2019, the County of Huron Early Years and the AMDSB partnered to discuss the renovation of a classroom at Bluewater Coast for a childcare program with a licenced capacity of 16. Funding for this project was provided by the County of Huron. In November 2019, AMDSB accepted the tender from Accuratus Design and Build Inc. to proceed with the project in a contract amount of $95,485. The work included renovating a classroom on the east side of the school. The space includes cubbies, washroom and change area, modifications to millwork, painting and an outdoor fenced play area. London Bridge Child Care Services is the provider for both this program and the before and after school program at Bluewater Coast. London Bridge offers licensed child care in London, Sarnia, Exeter, Hensall and Zurich.
“We are pleased to once again partner with the County of Huron and the AMDSB” said Angela Woodburn, Co-Executive Director of London Bridge Child Care Services. “This program provides families with access to quality licensed childcare within their community. We look forward to partnering with families in Hensall for many years to come.”
“The County of Huron is pleased to partner with London Bridge Child Care Services and the AMDSB, to offer this child care program that will help to support children and families in our communities,” said Huron County Warden, Glen McNeil. “This centre will be providing holistic environments where children of all ages can foster relationships with peers, educators, and their community.”
“The AMDSB is pleased that this contribution from the County of Huron has allowed us to provide much needed Child Care spaces within Bluewater Coast Elementary School. We look forward to this continued partnership with London Bridge Child Care Services within the school, as they expand their service to meet the needs of the Hensall community.” said Cheri Carter, Superintendent of Corporate Services.
