[Huron County, Ontario] – In an effort to help both businesses and the general public connect to the most current information and to encourage consumer confidence, the County of Huron has launched the Ready to Re-Open Huron recognition program available at no cost to all businesses within Huron County.
Delivered through a one-hour webinar, a toolkit and guidance documents, Ready to Re-Open Huron is designed to arm businesses with guidance on what reasonable steps should be taken when reopening their businesses and how to make their workplaces safe for employees and customers. The program will connect them with resources if they have additional questions, and help consumers feel more comfortable when visiting businesses that are recognized by the Ready to Re-Open Huron program.
“The County remains dedicated to working collaboratively to support our local business community,” says Warden Jim Ginn. “By taking a cautious approach to reopening and arming our businesses with the resources to do so, our County, our economy and our citizens will all benefit.”
To become recognized as Ready to Re-Open, businesses must register for and participate in a webinar, read the Ready to Re-Open Huron Toolkit and sector-specific guidance documents and pledge to implement the recommendations from the program to the best of their ability.
After successfully completing the Ready to Re-Open Huron program, businesses will display a Ready to Re-Open Huron window decal in their storefront windows and be featured on the County’s “BizMap” as well as in a local marketing campaign in print and on social media.
While the program is intended to help businesses connect with the most up-to-date health and safety information available, it is not a certification or inspection program. Neither the county nor its program partners can guarantee any level safety at participating businesses. The aim of the program is to connect consumers to businesses that have self-committed to implementing best practices for their industry as the economy re-opens.
