The Huron County Digital Service Squad consists of trained specialists who are available to meet with brick-and-mortar small businesses at no cost to help them complete an online assessment and introduce them to online training modules to further build knowledge and skills.
To assist families accessing licensed childcare in Huron County, the County of Huron Children’s Services department is covering the childcare fees that families pay for the month of October, 2021. This support to families is being made available by utilizing funds received by The Ministry of Education from the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada.
The County of Huron, in partnership with the Province of Ontario, has awarded two Huron County entrepreneurs grant funding of $5,000 to support their start-ups and growth efforts through the Starter Company Plus program. Successful recipients are Les & Nel’s Kitchenette and Wilhemina Bakery.
The County of Huron, along with the Town of Goderich, Municipality of Huron East, and the Township of North Huron recently received funding through the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP), an opportunity offered through Natural Resources Canada, to install electric vehicle chargers in Huron County.

Surveys will be mailed to the business community starting at the beginning of June, and continuing through to the end of November 2021. he Huron County Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) project is a county-wide effort, supported by local BIAs, Chambers of Commerce, and others, that recognizes, confidential business surveys.
The County of Huron has lowered its flags to half-mast to honour the 215 children whose lives were taken at the former Kamloops residential school and all Indigenous children who never made it home, the survivors, and their families. The flags will remain at half-mast for 9 days – 215 hours – to represent each life.
