Finding Fairness in Farm Transition

November 16, 2023 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

About the Finding Fairness in Farm Transition Event:

We all know that no one wants to talk about succession planning. It can be an emotional family conflict and it’s often difficult to know where to start. Farmers have noted that the top reasons they don’t engage in succession planning is a fear of failure, a fear of family conflict and a fear of losing control – but failing to plan will result in these feared outcomes.

This 1-day event features Elaine Froese, Canada’s Farm Whisperer, and farm family coach. Learning with Elaine can help to bring clarity, certainty, harmony to these difficult discussions and lead to action. She helps families define how to meet the needs of each family member, use tools to chart an agreed upon path forward and gain clarity. Then families can work with their team of professionals (accountants, lawyers, financial planners, etc.) to implement their transition plan – which may mean initially stepping back, rather than stepping out.

The bonus is that moving ahead in this journey can also lead to greater profitability, studies show the impact can be up to a 21% increase in the farm’s bottom line.

Cost: $75.00 per person. Early Bird Pricing of $65:00 per person available until September 30th
