Eureka! Discover Summer Reading

June 13, 2014

Huron County, ON – The school year is almost over, but children can curb the summer brain drain with fun programs and activities during this year’s TD Summer Reading Club!

Participants can join other “makers and shakers” to invent, create, hack, tinker and innovate at all Huron County Library branches during the TD Summer Reading Club.

The Reading Club runs for 8 weeks from June 30 to August 22nd, 2014. It is geared for children between the ages of 4 and 12; however older students are welcome to volunteer as helpers.

The goal of this program is to increase children’s interest in reading over the summer months. This will be done by creating crafts, reading together, playing games, and of course, giving away prizes!

This year’s theme is “Eureka!” which is all about making things, inventions and discovery. Kids will be dreamers of dreams and makers of worlds, with books as the sparks that help inspire and tools that help them build.

For more information, or to register for the TD Summer Reading Club visit or call your local branch of the Huron County Library.

Prize sponsors for this year’s reading club are Fincher’s, Random House of Canada, plus Simon & Schuster.

This summer, it’s all about connectivity and creativity at your local library, so bring yourself, your family, your friends and spark something great!
