LIBRARY MEMBERSHIP

Welcome to the Huron County Library! Membership is free of charge to any resident of Huron County. See the patron types listed below to determine if you qualify for a free library membership.

Visit any Huron County Library Branch to get signed up today! To register, new members must show one piece of photo identification with their mailing address included. Two pieces of identification may be required if photo ID is not available. One of these pieces of identification must include the current mailing address.

Children, under 16 years of age, who are unaccompanied by a parent or legal guardian are encouraged to present a signed letter of permission consenting to their library membership.

New applicants may fill out an Huron County Library Card Application Form. Applicants can print off a completed form and submit it to any local branch.

Online Temporary Card Registration

If you are unable to access a Branch to get started with your membership, you can register for a temporary library card number online. This will give you immediate access to the majority of our online resources.

This library card number will be valid for 28 days after which it is recommended that you visit a library branch to sign up for a physical library card for your library membership.

Library Card Renewal

If you are a current member of the Huron County Library, please note that membership will need to be renewed at no charge once every two years. To renew your card so you can continue to access all library services, please present your card at any Branch. You will need to make sure there are no outstanding fees on your account before renewal can be completed.
