Huron County, Ontario – The County of Huron’s Immigration Partnership celebrated seven immigrants and newcomers to Canada who are making a difference in their communities at the inaugural I Am Huron awards this week.
The awards program invited nominations of immigrants who have made a meaningful impact through their work, leadership, or community involvement. A volunteer selection committee reviewed all nominations and selected seven outstanding individuals from across the county to be recognized.
Recipients were chosen based on their nomination submissions, with a focus on contributions to the community and society, entrepreneurial and economic Impact and cultural and artistic contributions.
“These awards honour the incredible people who have chosen to make Huron County their home,” said Pam Somers, chair of the Huron County Immigrant Advisory Council, who spearheaded the program. “Through their hard work, entrepreneurship, and volunteerism, they enrich our communities and inspire us all.”
