Main Street Arts Festival expands to three days of art and culture across Huron County this September

Huron County, Ontario The Main Street Arts Festival is back this fall with a vibrant three-day celebration of artistic and cultural programming taking place across Huron County from Sept. 19-21, 2025.

Over three exciting days, the festival features workshops and talks at the Blyth Festival Art Gallery and the Huron County Library | Exeter Branch, and culminates in a full-day street festival on Sunday, Sept. 21, from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. when Bayfield closes Main Street to cars and opens it to an immersive celebration of creativity!  Visitors can enjoy art in the street from local and regional artists including performative and kinetic art displays musical buskers, A Procession of the Species event, artisan vendor booths, exhibitions, and hands-on artmaking opportunities for all ages.

Festival Highlights:

Friday, Sept. 19

Between Trails & Tangled Veins — Artist Talk, Workshop, and Gallery Tour with Autumn Ducharme at the Blyth Festival Gallery

Saturday, Sept. 20

Workshops at Huron County Library | Exeter Branch

  • Draw Cartoon Characters with Mazie Lovie
  • Procession of the Species — Costume & Prop Workshop with Trash Theatre

Sunday, Sept. 21

Full day of festivities on Main Street, Bayfield

  • Interactive music and performances, including Animal Kinetic sculpture by Cesar Cordoba, and musical buskers Jason & the Nomads, and Dave Neigh’s Tuba Machine
  • Art Activations, exhibitions, and artisan vendors from participating local galleries and organizations. Hands-on artmaking, including Procession of the Species workshop with Trash Theatre, block printing with Autumn Ducharme, a community mural by Josslyn Hagen, and Cyanotype with Abigail Bos
  • Procession of the Species — a joyful, nature-inspired parade featuring costumes and creatures made and displayed by the community on Main Street at 4:00 p.m.

The festival is presented by the Huron Cultural Office in partnership with the Bayfield Chamber of Commerce, Municipality of Bluewater, Blyth Festival Art Gallery, and is hosted as part of Welcoming Week and Culture Days celebrations. This event is made possible thanks to funding from the Ontario Arts Council.
