Huron County, OntarioThe Huron County Library is thrilled to announce the grand opening of the new Makerspace at the Goderich Branch, a dynamic hub for creativity, innovation, and connection. This exciting addition is part of the Library’s expanded line-up of technology-based tools, programs, and services available at branches across the County.

All are welcome to drop into the Goderich Branch on Saturday, June 14, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for an exciting day of hands-on tech exploration! Tools available to explore throughout the day include a 3D Printer, VR Headset & Nintendo, Cricut Machine, Button Maker, and Nerf Guns. Light refreshments will also be available. All ages welcome but some items may have age restrictions.

The Makerspace is available during regular branch hours and offers drop-in access to a collection of equipment and tools community members can use to create, play, learn, and connect. To ensure safe and confident use, users are required to complete certification before independently using some of these devices.

“The new Makerspace is a space where curiosity and creativity come together,” says Beth Rumble, County Library and Director of Cultural Services. “We are proud to offer opportunities that inspire lifelong learning and bring people together through shared exploration and innovation.”

Thanks to the generous support of the McCall MacBain Foundation, the Goderich Makerspace is one of several tech-forward initiatives coming to Huron County Library branches. To learn more about Tech at the Library, visit; https://www.huroncountylibrary.ca/tech-at-the-library/
