Huron County, Ontario – The County of Huron is recognizing Pride Month with a series of initiatives and programs that highlight a commitment to inclusion, diversity, and support for 2SLGBTQ+ individuals across the region.
To mark the beginning of Pride Month, the Pride flag has been raised at three County facilities: the Huron County Courthouse, the Jacob Memorial Building, and the Huron County Museum. The Pride flags serve as a welcoming symbol for 2SLGBTQ+ communities and a reminder of the County’s commitment to inclusion.
“Pride Month is a time to reflect on the importance of inclusion and to acknowledge the diversity that strengthens local communities,” said County of Huron CAO, Meighan Wark. “Raising the Pride flag and offering community-based programming is one way the County supports a sense of belonging for everyone.”
Throughout the month of June, the County’s Cultural Services department is offering a variety of programs and initiatives in celebration of Pride:
- Huron County Library Pride Month Programming: Library branches across the County are offering themed book displays, curated reading lists, and inclusive programming. A full listing is available at huroncountylibrary.ca.
