Huron County, Ontario – The County of Huron is proud to recognize the outstanding contributions of healthcare staff during National Nursing Week (May 12–18, 2025) and Personal Support Worker Day (May 19, 2025).

These two important observances provide an opportunity to recognize and thank Huron’s many caring nurses and personal support workers, especially those working in the County’s two long-term care homes: Huronview and Huronlea.

“Our nurses and personal support workers are more than caregivers — they’re trusted professionals and empathetic advocates who make a meaningful difference every day,” said Huron County Warden Jamie Heffer. “Their compassion and commitment help create a safe and respectful environment for residents and peace of mind for their families.”

Huronview and Huronlea are home to more than 180 residents, each of whom relies on a skilled and compassionate team of healthcare professionals to meet their individual needs. Whether managing complex medical conditions, offering personal care, or simply being a comforting presence, the staff at both homes make a meaningful difference every day.

While the County celebrates the exceptional teams at Huronview and Huronlea, it also extends its appreciation to nurses and PSWs working across all healthcare settings in Huron County.

The County of Huron thanks healthcare staff across the region for their care, commitment, and humanity.
