The Corporation of the County of Huron’s Cultural Service Department is seeking Summer Literacy Coordinators!

Huron County Library is currently hiring for two (2) full-time, temporary summer student positions, Summer Literacy Coordinator(s) for 16 weeks. The main work location will be the Huron County Library Administration office (Clinton, ON), 12 library branches throughout Huron County, and/or in a virtual/remote space.

Position Summary

The Summer Literacy Coordinators will work as a team to plan, develop, and promote the Huron County Library’s TD Summer Reading Program, themed “Dive In!”. Travel to 12 branch libraries each week is required.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Developing weekly themes,
  • Creating promotional materials,
  • Presenting programs with activities that develop children’s literacy skills.
  • Visiting (in-person or virtual) with local schools to promote the program.

Qualifications and Education

  • Strong organizational and communications skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience working with children an asset.
  • Experience producing programming an asset
  • Driver’s license, good driving record, and access to a vehicle

Competitive Compensation

  • Starting wage of $18.67 per hour, as per the 2026 non-union student pay grid
