Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh

The Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh is located in the northwest corner of the Huron County. The Township is a vibrant rural community and is one of the agriculturally productive areas of Ontario. Extending from Goderich to Amberley and inland to the well-known Benmiller Inn, relax in the sun on the shores of Lake Huron, explore the picturesque countryside and experience a breathtaking sunset. An oasis of quiet country or cottage life awaits residents, with a strong feeling of community, and ideal surroundings for raising a family, working, or enjoying the relaxing atmosphere.

Municipality of Central Huron

The Municipality of Central Huron, located in the heart of Huron County is comprised of the former Town of Clinton and Townships of Goderich and Hullett. We are moments from live theatre, great shopping, warm sandy beaches and spectacular sunsets. Come and spend a day at the Clinton Racetrack Slots or Clinton Raceway, where every Sunday afternoon from May to September you can enjoy harness racing at its best. Many major centres are within easy driving distance.

Central Huron can boast about our excellent new Community Complex and recreational facility as well as the Regional Equine Agricultural Centre of Huron, our golf courses, fishing, snowmobiling and of course the Hullett Wildlife Area.

Town of Goderich

The Town of Goderich, founded in 1827 by William ‘Tiger’ Dunlop, rests on the shore of Lake Huron. With a population of just over 8,000 residents, Goderich is a vibrant cultural and business hub, fusing the leading financial drivers of industry, agriculture, and tourism into a cohesive, thriving economy. Covering an area of about 8 square kilometres, the Town of Goderich, called the ‘Prettiest Town in Canada’, is well-loved for its scenic beauty, cultural events, and historic landmarks.

The largest industry in Goderich is the Sifto Salt Mine, located at the Goderich harbour. The salt mine extends for many kilometres beneath Lake Huron. Many industrial, commercial, and business enterprises call the progressive, busy Town of Goderich home.

Township of Howick

Howick is one of the four Huron County Townships created out of the Queen’s Bush by the Wilkinson survey of 1847. The Township is the most northeasterly of the County, bounded on the north by the Municipality of South Bruce, on the east by the Town of Minto in Wellington, on the south by the Municipality of North Perth and on the west by Morris-Turnberry in Huron.

Today, the Township of Howick is a predominately rural municipality. Urban settlement in the municipality is located in the Villages of Fordwich, Gorrie and Wroxeter, as well as in the hamlets of Belmore and Lakelet. The majestic Maitland River winds through the Township and flows through each of the Villages.

Municipality of Huron East

Municipality of Morris-Turnberry

The Municipality of Morris-Turnberry is located in the northern part of Huron County and is a prime agricultural community. Morris-Turnberry is rich in productive agricultural land, and sits within one hour of major cities and 30 minutes from the Lake Huron shoreline.

The Municipality is diverse, offering a great setting for industrial, commercial and residential growth. Fine dining, golfing, walking trails, snowmobile trails and a friendly environment make Morris-Turnberry a wonderful place to locate or visit.

Township of North Huron

North Huron is a thriving community that encompasses Blyth, East Wawanosh and Wingham; two of which offer prime retail locations with main highway access. North Huron and the surrounding area is home to many small to medium sized industrial businesses, technical expertise and entrepreneurial services. North Huron is also home to a robust agricultural community.

North Huron is located on the Maitland River Watershed of northern Huron County. Our area is rich with cultural, historical and recreational attractions. Enjoy hiking, antiquing, fishing, canoeing, snowmobiling and more. Shop in our friendly downtowns or explore our back roads and discover delightful and unique shops and peaceful picnic sites.

Municipality of South Huron

South Huron is a great place to work and live, it offers an affordable lifestyle, sustainable employment and year-round community events. We offer that ‘small-town’ feeling yet have all the amenities to live and work and still located within driving distance to major metropolitan areas.

South Huron has commercial and industrial lands available that are fully serviced in both Huron Industrial Park and Exeter. High speed internet connectivity is now in place throughout the Municipality. In addition, South Huron is investing for the future in new and expanded water and waste-water systems. No need to be worrying about crumbling infrastructure in South Huron. We know what we have and we take care of it, like any responsible business-like community.
