I Am Huron

I Am Huron

I Am Huron is a Huron County-wide initiative to showcase the diverse contributions that immigrants and newcomers to Canada make in our communities. The campaign aims to celebrate immigrants and highlight the positive impact they make in many different areas.

The campaign requested community nominations of immigrants who make an impact in their community, with an Immigrant Advisory Council subcommittee selecting seven exemplary individuals in 2025.

Background

The I Am Huron campaign was started in 2025 with guidance from the London Middlesex Local Immigration Partnership and their I Am London campaign.

The campaign builds on more than a decade of work in celebrating diversity in Huron County and addressing barriers that immigrants face when moving to our community.

It is hoped by highlighting immigrant and newcomer contributions, this campaign will draw greater attention to immigrant contributions, break down stereotypes and promote inclusivity.

The I Am Huron campaign is supported with funds from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, along with the County of Huron’s Economic Development department.
