Huron Multicultural Festival

Saturday, June 28, from 12:00 – 7:00 p.m. in Lions Harbour Park!

Join us on Saturday, June 28, from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m. for the annual Huron Multicultural Festival taking place in a new location in Lions Harbour Park, Goderich. This vibrant celebration of culture offers a diverse array of free activities for attendees of all ages. The festival includes a stage show of music and dance from around the world, a global food court and marketplace, children’s activities, and licensed beer garden.

Parking Information

Limited accessible is available at the Festival site (via the Park House parking lot). Free parking is available on the streets around the Festival site as well as at public parking lots throughout Downtown Goderich.

Festival visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.

2025 Headlining Acts

Kazdoura | 4:00 - 4:45 p.m.

Founded by Syrian singer Leen Hamo and Lebanese jazz musician John Abou Chacra, Kazdoura is rooted in Levantine Arabic music and fueled by genre-bending experimentation. With a vibrant fusion of Arabic Maqams, middle eastern groovy rhythms, psychedelia, and soulful jazz saxophone Kazdoura creates a fresh and electrifying take on Arabic classics and original compositions.

Quique Escamilla | 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.

JUNO Award-winning Quique Escamilla is a Mayan-Zapotec singer-songwriter from Chiapas, Mexico—based in Toronto—who blends Pan-American rhythms such as huapango, cumbia, rock and reggae with stories that elevate Indigenous Peoples’ voices across the Americas and decimate the effects of colonization, racism and xenophobia.

Conexión Latina | 2:00 - 2:45 p.m.

Conexión Latina is a high-energy Latin music band, founded in 2020 in Waterloo, Ontario that brings together talented musicians from across Latin America and Canada. Their diverse backgrounds create a unique and vibrant sound that celebrates rich musical traditions. From Cuban salsa all the way to Colombian cumbia, their infectious rhythms are guaranteed to get your hips moving! The dance floor is open—come feel the music with Conexión Latina!

Shantell Powell | 12:15 - 12:30 p.m.

Shantell Powell is a two-spirit Inuk/Mi’kmaw/settler raised on the land and off the grid. A graduate of the Writers’ Studio at Simon Fraser University, the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, and the LGBTQ+ Novel Immersive at GrubStreet, she writes speculative fiction and poetry. She’s a finalist this year for the Brave New Weird prize and the Aurora Award. Her writing appears in Strange Horizons, Augur Magazine, The Deadlands, On Spec Magazine, and more. Shantell will be reading fantastical poems which draw inspiration from the storytelling of her Inuit ancestors.

Arcapada Art Dance | 12:30 - 12:40 p.m. and 3:00 - 3:15 p.m. and 3:30 - 3:40 p.m.

Arcapada Art Dance is an Indonesian dance group consisting of four professional dancers based in the Toronto and Goderich area. The members have actively performed in multicultural festivals, both national and international and are graduates from the Indonesian Art Institute, majoring in classical and traditional dances or alumni of traditional dance clubs in Indonesia. 

Culture Philippines of Ontario | 12:50 - 1:05 p.m. and 1:15 - 1:30 p.m.

Culture Philippines of Ontario is non-profit, community-based and youth-centered organization established in 1985. Their objective is to retain Filipino cultural heritage by providing music, dance and performing arts instructions to children in Canada and share it with the community.

Nachde Rangeelay | 12:40 - 12:50 p.m. and 1:05 - 1:15 p.m.

This group will have a performance by the male adult group as well as a teen group. 

Nachde Rangeelay Bhangra Academy is a local Bhangra team from Brampton, Ontario. They use the folk roots of Bhangra and combine it with a twist of modern choreo. Their goal is to grow Bhangra so it will be available to future generations and keep the Punjabi folk dance culture alive. They have an academy with over 300 plus students and growing. They are also active in the entertainment industry providing a high energy  performance for all sorts of events.

The Afro-Brazilian Stilt Drumming Trio | 1:45 - 2:00 p.m. and 3:40 - 4:00 p.m.

The Afro-Brazilian Stilt Drumming Trio brings powerful traditional rhythms of Brazil’s Northeast — like Maracatu and Ijexá — to new heights! Based in Toronto, Canada, where this vibrant musical tradition has continued to grow and evolve, their stilt drummers create an energy that feels larger than life. It’s an unforgettable experience that leaves a lasting impression on hearts and minds.

Levant for Culture and Arts is a community driven organization dedicated to fostering inclusion, expression, and connection through arts and cultural programming.
