County of Huron Announces 2022 SLED Fund Recipients

Huron County, Ontario – The County of Huron’s annual Supporting Local Economic Development (SLED) program has awarded $87,500 to nine applicants that successfully demonstrated their projects would have a measurable economic impact in one or more of the following areas:

  • Re-engagement, attraction, and/or retention of workforce;
  • Impacts business districts and/or key sectors;
  • Advances place-making, community, and/or tourism development.

Successful applications were awarded by a selection panel of local economic development judges.

“Not only do these projects help to bolster our local economy, they help to enhance a strong sense of community and better enable us to present a desirable region, in which people want to visit and live.” said Vicki Lass, Director of Economic Development.

The 2022 successful applications are as follows:

  1. Township of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh | Dungannon Farmers’ Market
  2. Municipality of Central Huron | Sculpture Garden Installation
  3. Eat Local Huron | Agro-tourism: Farm Crawls
  4. Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health | SHARP (Skills for Healthcare, Attraction and Retention)
  5. Huron County Farmers’ Market Association | Farmer’s Market Enhancement Project
  6. The Township of North Huron | Cruickshank Park Enhancement Project
  7. Seaforth BIA | Reuse, Recycle and Refurbish Project
  8. South Huron Arts Centre | Pottery Studio/Class Initiative
  9. The Town of Goderich | Wayfinding Signage Project
