Huron County’s Municipal Clerks Host Candidate Information Session Ahead of 2026 Municipal Election

Huron County, Ontario – Residents interested in running for municipal office in the 2026 Municipal Election are invited to attend a Huron County Candidate Information Session on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Libro Community Hall in Clinton. This free public session is intended for anyone considering becoming a municipal election candidate or wanting to learn more about local government and the municipal election process.

“Whether you are thinking about running for office or simply want to better understand the municipal election process, this session will provide valuable information about local government, the responsibilities of elected officials, and how residents can participate in shaping their communities,” said Susan Cronin, Director of Legislative Services and County Clerk for the County of Huron.

The session will provide prospective candidates with an overview of the municipal election process, voting methods, the voters’ list, and the role of Huron County Council. Presentations will feature representatives from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, local municipal clerks, and County staff.

The Candidate Information Session is being organized collaboratively by clerks from municipalities across Huron County as part of ongoing efforts to support informed participation in local government and encourage community engagement in the democratic process. The session is open to anyone interested in learning more about serving their community through local government.
