Huron County, Ontario – The Huron County Museum invites local artists to submit their work for the upcoming 2025 Huron County Art Show & Sale, a judged competition and exhibition to collect local art for the Huron County Art Bank.
Artists residing in Huron County are encouraged to submit their artwork around the theme Huron County. Submissions will be accepted at the Huron County Museum, 110 North St., Goderich, during regular hours until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19, 2025.
The Huron County Art Show and Sale is an initiative designed to collect local art for the Huron County Art Bank and to promote local art and artists. Held at the Huron County Museum, an artist from outside the County selects two artworks from the Art Show submissions that are purchased by the County and added to the Art Bank collection. To date, 50 works of local art have been added to the collection, preserving the legacy of Huron County artists for future generations.
First and second place winning entries will receive a purchase award of $1,000 and $800 respectively. Winning entries become the property of the Corporation of the County of Huron and join the Huron County Art Bank to furnish the public areas of County buildings with the talent of our local artists.
“This event not only highlights the creative energy in our community but also gives residents a chance to connect with and support local artists,” said Senior Curator Elizabeth French-Gibson.
This year’s show will be on display at the Museum from Oct. 4 to Dec. 14, 2025, offering visitors an opportunity to view a diverse range of works from local creatives. In addition to the juried selections, the public is invited to participate in the show by casting their vote for the People’s Choice Award using a special ballot available at the Museum.
Winners from the 2022 show were Harvest Landscape Huron County by Roman Turczyn, first, and With Wonder by Michele Miller, second.
