Taste of Huron launches Winterlicious

January 24, 2014

Huron County, ON – Forget winter’s sting and embrace the season with Winterlicious fare that makes the most of Huron County’s bounty. A new winter dining program, through Taste of Huron, is highlighting some creative new menus from nine local chefs.

Nine Huron County restaurants will be offering three-course, prix fixe menus as part of this culinary program. Winterlicious dining experiences, which include starter, entrée and dessert, are available at the affordable cost of $29 per person, plus taxes and gratuity.

Winterlicious menus feature specialities such as Squash Bisque with Roasted Walnuts, Smoked EVOO & Vanilla Crème Fraiche; Everspring Farm Muscovy Duck Confit Ravioli; Late Harvest Kale and Beet Salad; Wild boar with Cranberry & Berkshire Pork Sausage; Carolina Baby Back Ribs with Mustard Barbeque Sauce; Winter White S’mores or Dark Chocolate Tarts with Short Bread Crust, Dulce de Leche and Vanilla Bean Gelato.

These delicious menu choices will be hard to resist, tickling your senses with savoury spices and delicious tastes for the winter-weary customers who take advantage of this flavourful fare.

Winterlicious menus are on offer from February 1 to March 9 at the following restaurants:

  • Benmiller Inn and Spa (Benmiller)
  • Black Dog Village Pub and Bistro (Bayfield)
  • Blyth Inn (Blyth)
  • Eddington’s of Exeter (Exeter)
  • Fireside Cafe (Wingham)
  • Part II Bistro (Blyth)
  • The Little Inn (Bayfield)
  • Samuel’s Hotel (Saltford)
  • Thyme on 21 (Goderich)

With the Winterlicious menu creation comes other dining experiences in the County. For instance, on Sunday, February 16th Brentwood on the Beach, an elegant lakeside bed and breakfast at St. Joseph is offering Guten Appetit! – a Winterlicious Getaway. This one-night package includes a traditional German dinner, accommodation and brunch.

Winterlicious also offers an opportunity to tour Robinson’s Sugar Bush and Sugar Camp where you’ll receive free samples of their sweet maple syrup. And, free cookies are offered with each order on Fantastic Fridays at Queens Bakery in Blyth.

Winterlicious is a seasonal Taste of Huron experience created for Huron County residents and visitors.
