Information Session on Wind Turbine Investigation

Residents of Huron County are invited to an information session about the upcoming investigation related to reported human health concerns associated with residential proximity to industrial wind turbines.

3rd Annual Red Scarf Project Hits Wingham December 1, 2016

The Huron County Health Unit, with support from the Regional HIV/AIDS Connection, has tapped the talents and enthusiasm of the community for the 3rd Annual Red Scarf Project. On December 1, 2016 volunteers and staff will be putting red scarves on lamp and sign posts lining Josephine Street in Wingham to increase public awareness of HIV/AIDS.

Help Prevent the Spread of Stomach Flu

Late fall and winter are usually associated with an increase in stomach-related illnesses across the County. These illnesses are often caused by a Norovirus, which can spread easily. Cleaning and disinfecting commonly touched surfaces and staying home when sick can help prevent the spread of stomach flu.

With most windows and doors closed due to the cooler weather, now is a good time for Huron County residents to test for radon. Radon test kits are available at most major home renovation stores, or can be purchased on-line.
