Curbside service now available at all Huron County Library branches

Huron County Library is pleased to announce that as of August 15, 2020 curbside service is available at all 12 branches located throughout the County, including Alice Munro in Wingham, Bayfield, Blyth, Brussels, Clinton, Exeter, Goderich, Hensall, Howick, Kirkton, Seaforth, and Zurich. Hours vary from branch to branch and are regularly being adjusted to meet the public’s needs. Visit huroncounty.ca/library for complete curbside service details.

Huron County Clean Water Project is now accepting funding applications

The Huron County Clean Water Project is a fund that supports water quality projects in Huron County.  In 2020, the County of Huron allocated $400,000 in funds to be distributed through the Maitland Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) and the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) who deliver the program on behalf of the County. County of Huron Launches Huron Recovery Grant Program for Businesses

Led by Huron County Economic Development with $15,000 in funds provided through a partnership with Community Futures Huron, the Huron Recovery Grant Program will award grants of up to $2,500 to eligible applicants in Huron County as they pivot to maintain operations and to help offset costs associated with this transition.

Welcoming Business Entryway Signage available from County of Huron Economic Development Department

In consultation with local municipalities and community partners, the County of Huron Economic Development department has produced a business signage package for consistent entryway signage to businesses and establishments that do not have consistent signage programs in their communities already.

Huron County Museum Ready to Re-open

The Huron County Museum is re-opening its doors starting Saturday, August 1. All visitors and staff must carefully follow all guidelines for health and safety purposes. Guidelines can be found on the Museum website.

Huron Perth Public Health issues instructions on use of face coverings

On July 13, 2020, Dr. Miriam Klassen, Medical Officer of Health for Huron and Perth counties, issued formal instructions to employers on the use of face coverings in commercial establishments. These instructions require business owners to implement a policy for the use of non-medical masks or face coverings, including the expectation that people entering establishments will wear a face covering. Official instructions are being shared with operators and are posted to the Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) website.

SWIFT Releases RFP to Improve Internet Access in Huron County

As part of its expansion plan, SWIFT has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for $7.2 million to expand broadband infrastructure in Huron County. Contracts will be awarded, and service provider agreements will be put in place shortly after the RFP closes on December 4, 2020.
