New Active Transportation Video Salutes Huron County Winter

November 26, 2015

Huron County, ON – Even during a Huron County winter, active transportation is a fun, healthy way to move around the beautiful outdoors.

Just ask the Huron County residents showcased in the latest active transportation video from the Huron County Health Unit.

Active transportation is any method of going from one place to another using your own body. This includes walking, snow shoeing, or cross-country skiing. The “What’s Your Here to There?” video series features Huron County residents showing how they use active transportation.

“We’re so lucky in Huron County to have active transportation opportunities available all year round,” says Laura Dekroon, Public Health Promoter. “This video shows just how beautiful Huron County is during the winter, and how much fun residents have using active transportation even during the coldest months.”

Featured locations in the video include the Benmiller and Holmesville areas, as well as Goderich.

The video can be found online at www.huronhealthunit.ca/activetransportation. Residents can also see it by tuning into local broadcaster Hurontel’s Channel One.

Earlier this year, the Huron County Health Unit released “Get a Move On!”, a community workbook to help individuals and community groups in their active transportation efforts.

The workbook is available in Huron County libraries as well as at huronhealthunit.ca/activetransportation.
