Huron County, ON – The Huron County Health Unit is monitoring media reports of complaints about a sunscreen product.
“The Huron County Health Unit is aware of media reports of a sunscreen product causing adverse reactions such as burning of the skin on young children,” says Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Maarten Bokhout. “At this time Health Canada is investigating these claims and has not issued a recall as of this date.”
Dr. Bokhout says the Health Unit will monitor the situation and ensure the public is informed if there is any further development such as a product recall.
Reports of any adverse side effects to sunscreens should be reported to Health Canada through their website, www.healthycanadians.ca.
