Last Call for Driven to Quit Challenge

February 24, 2015

Huron County, ON – February 28, 2015 is the last day to enter the Canadian Cancer Society’s Driven to Quit Challenge. Those who are planning to quit smoking, or have recently quit, can register for their chance to win the grand prize of a new car and other cash prizes, in addition to winning many health benefits.

Participants sign up and are asked to stay smoke-free for the month of March. Should they be successful in staying smoke-free and their name drawn, they will either win a Nissan Sentra SR, a Toyota Corolla S or a Scion tC as the grand prize or one of seven secondary prizes of $1000.

“The majority of smokers in Ontario want to quit,” says Julie Verch, Public Health Nurse at the Huron County Health Unit. “Research has shown that if people who smoke can quit for one month, they are five times more likely to remain smoke-free for good. Contests like The Driven to Quit Challenge provide that extra motivation for people to make that quit attempt.”
