Join the TD Summer Reading Club this summer!

June 13, 2022

Huron County, Ontario – The Huron County Library is excited to host the TD Summer Reading Club in person this summer! This exciting and educational program is available for free to readers aged 4-12.

Through creative crafts, activities, games, and of course, reading, the TD Summer Reading Club will help children improve their literacy skills while also offering the opportunity to make meaningful social connections, share with others in a team environment, and stimulate creative capacity! This program will introduce the library as both a source for information and pleasure by encouraging youth to use the library as a lifelong learning resource.

This summer, the Reading Club resumes in-person meetings at each of the 12 Huron County Library branches starting on Monday, July 4 and runs weekly until Friday, Aug. 26. All participants will receive a reading club notebook, a pack of stickers, a top summer reads list, and a bookmark with a web-access code that can be used on the tdsummerreadingclub.ca website to track reading progress and receive additional club benefits!

“We’re really excited to meet and engage with this year’s readers!’ said Summer Literacy Coordinators, Olivia Rose and Gwyneth Pella. “This year’s program is going to be extra fun.  It will be packed with adventure, play and social connection, which is something we can all use a little more of these days!”

This year’s Summer Reading Club theme is “Myths and Legends.” Participants can expect to delve into fantastical, magical, and exciting stories through adventure and play! Readers will trek through forests, swim to the bottom of the sea, and even take a trip to the moon, all while letting their curiosity give rise to questions about the world around us!

Registration will be open Monday, June 13 at www.HuronCountyLibrary.ca.

This local program is sponsored by the Toronto Dominion Financial Group and partially funded by Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations, Department of Canadian Heritage.
