Important Notice: Potential Mail Disruption

Ontario Works payments for July 1st, 2016 will not be mailed out due to a potential disruption in mail delivery.

If you receive your Ontario Works payment through direct deposit, payments will continue to be deposited into your bank account as usual.  Your statement will not be mailed.  Drug cards that were valid for the month of June will be valid until the end of July.

If you receive your Ontario Works payment by cheque in the mail, please note the following:

Staff will be available on Thursday, June 30th from 2:30 to 4:00 and Monday, July 4th from 2:30 to 4:00 at the following locations for you to pick up your cheque:

Please call the Interactive Voice Response System (IVR) to ensure your cheque has been issued at 1-800-808-2268.  (If you have forgot your PIN or ID number press 0 for an attendant).

You will need Valid ID to pick up your cheque.  Acceptable documents are:

  • a valid passport,
  • citizenship card,
  • driver’s license,
  • birth certificate,
  • health card,
  • a recent Ontario Works cheque stub,
  • a recent utility bill with current name and address, or
  • a recent bank statement with name and address.

If you are not able to attend at the designated pick-up centre’s day/time, please contact that office for alternate arrangements.
