Huron County residents urged to stay the course and continue physical distancing

April 24, 2020

[Huron County, Ontario] – County of Huron staff and County Council would like to express their gratitude to the businesses, organizations, and residents of Huron County.  The resolve of the community to do what it takes to reduce the spread of COVID-19 appear to be having a positive effect at the local level.

“While we are extremely grateful to the community for their impressive proactive response to this unprecedented crisis, now is not the time to get too comfortable or relax our views on physical distancing.” said Warden Jim Ginn “It is because of the efforts we are collectively making that we are seeing some success and it is vital that we stay the course to keep this pandemic at bay.”

Recognition and gratitude is extended to the following:

  • Huron County residents, for their commitment to physically distance themselves from family and loved ones during a time of crisis.
  • Huron County businesses, for making the necessary sacrifices, and workplace changes that have provided the community the opportunity to be safe while still having access to all of the essential items and services required during this time.
  • Cottagers, for avoiding non-essential travel to seasonal properties and understanding the impact and potential strain they could place on the local healthcare system and local resources.
  • Huron County agencies, community groups and individual volunteers for stepping up and providing the additional supports the community needs at this time.
  • Frontline workers, for the unbelievable job they are doing to prepare and protect the community from a potential surge in COVID-19 cases locally.
