Event: Creating a Healthy Workplace Culture

October 9, 2014

Huron County, ON – The public health units in Huron and Perth Counties want to support employers to create healthy workplaces. They are sponsoring the Creating a Healthy Workplace Culture workshop on November 6.

“When an employer creates a healthy workplace culture, they invest in their employees’ wellbeing. Healthy, productive employers and employees allow a business to thrive,” says Annie Lukacsovics, Public Health Promoter at the Huron County Health Unit. “Improving workplace wellness in Huron and Perth Counties improves the health of the counties’ residents and the economy.”

The workshop will help employers learn about free support services, how to turn around a workplace affected by bullying, and how to support healthy choices in the workplace.

Lukacsovics says the event is a great opportunity for employers, managers, health and safety leads and workplace wellness committee leads. Co-hosted by the Huron County Health Unit and the Perth District Health Unit, this all-day event features guest speaker Nancy Mulroney, an expert on respectful workplace training and mediation.

Creating a Healthy Workplace Culture takes place November 6 at the Mitchell Golf & Country Club, Mitchell. Tickets are $30 each, lunch included. Register by contacting Kerry Price at 519.271.7600 ext. 778 or kprice [at] pdhu.on.ca. Registration ends October 27.
