Don’t Let the Bugs Stop Your Fun
Huron County Health Unit reminds people, when enjoying outdoor activities, to protect themselves against mosquito and tick bites. Precautions include: wearing light-coloured, long-sleeved shirts, long pants and closed-toed shoes, using an insect repellent approved by Health Canada, limit time outdoors at dawn and dusk, and conducting head-to-toe tick checks. Visit ontario.ca/lyme for more information.
Community Food Advisors Now Recruiting
The Huron County Health Unit is recruiting new Community Food Advisor (CFA) volunteers. CFAs work with Health Unit staff and community partners to promote healthy eating and food safety through presentations, cooking classes and other educational appearances across the county. Training is free and begins in October.
