Dietary Student

Huronview and Huronlea are Huron County’s municipal homes providing health services for people who can no longer live independently in their own homes and need nursing and personal care 24 hours. The Dietary Student at Huronlea will assist in the preparation and distribution of food, and perform general kitchen and cleaning duties in the Food Services Department.  This position is under the supervision and direction of the Nutrition Services Manager.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Completion or enrollment in a Safe Food Handling course is required for this position
  • 2 step TB immunization (reading in millimeters)
  • Flu immunization is recommended
  • Experience working with the elderly population is an asset

Hours of Work: 

  • 3 to 4 scheduled shifts in a 2 week pay period
  • Call in shifts available
  • Hours are typically from 4:30pm to 7:30pm

Wages:  As per SEIU Collective Agreement
