Dads/Male Caregivers and Kids Night with the Museum

June 22, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Free

Dads/Male Caregivers and Kids returns this winter with in-person or Zoom gatherings taking place the last Thursday of each month.

Presented in partnership with Rural Response for Health Children, each gathering includes fun-filled themed activities, parent discussions and social time. This is a great virtual/in-person event to spend together with your children!

Thanks to a grant from Second Harvest and the Government of Canada, Rural Response is providing $70 gift cards to local restaurants for each adult participant. Monthly registration is required to receive virtual meeting access. Please register the Tuesday before the program starts. Visit www.rrhc.on.ca to register online.

  • April 27, 6 p.m. (virtual): Can we look to the past for a better future? In honour of Earth Day, look at technologies, objects and methods ancestors used in the past for their daily lives that are still sustainable and environmentally friendly today.
  • May 25, 6 p.m. (in-person at the Gaol): An escape the gaol tour! Interactive in-person tour of the Huron Historic Gaol with stories of escapes, attempted escapes, and how staff prevented jailbreaks. End (weather-permitting) with an escape-the-jail obstacle course in the large courtyard.
  • June 22, 6 p.m. (virtual): If objects could talk, what story would they tell? Sharing first-generation immigrant artifacts in the Huron County Museum’s collection. What have people brought with them? What can these objects tell us about Huron County families? Can you guess what countries objects come from in our kahoot quiz?
