Important Notice: County Cheques Held Due to Potential Mail Service Disruption

August 26, 2016

Given a potential mail service disruption next week, non-urgent cheques for vendors will be held until we are assured that deliveries will continue. Starting Monday, August 29th, cheques may be picked up in person from the Huron County Treasury Department located at 1 Courthouse Square in Goderich (main floor). Pick up time is between the hours of 11AM and 4PM, Monday through Friday.

When picking up a cheque you will be required to present a piece of government-issued photo identification (e.g., a valid Ontario Driver’s License) and will have to sign our registry. If the cheque is made out to an individual, that individual must be the person to pick it up. If you are picking up a cheque on behalf of a company, we will also require proof that you are authorized to do so.

If you have questions or require special assistance, please contact the Treasury Department at 519.524.83.94 ext. 3221.
