Three art works for the Huron County Art Bank are acquired annually from entries in the Huron County Fine Art Show & Sale. This popular exhibition of works by regional artists is an initiative of the Huron County Museum designed to collect local art for the Art Bank established by a bequest from the Lattimer Estate.

2012 Deadlines

• Submitted works must be received by the Huron County Museum by 4:30 PM on Saturday, March 31, 2012
• The Huron County Fine Art Show & Sale runs from Saturday, April 21 to Sunday, September 2, 2012

Eligibility

1. Participating artists must be a full-time resident, seasonal resident or ratepayer of Huron County.
2. Subject matter of art work(s) must be relevant to Huron County.
3. Maximum one (1) original framed works may be submitted by each artist. Works must be ready to hang and cannot have been previously displayed in the last two Huron County Fine Art Shows.

Media & Size Restrictions

1. Only works in one or any combination of oils, acrylics, watercolour, two-dimensional mixed media, pastels, inks, graphite or charcoal will be accepted. No photography or digital imagery is permitted.
2. All work visible within the mat must be a minimum of 11 inches by 14 inches before framing.

Awards

1. A purchase award of $1000, $800 and $700 will be given to the first, second and third place winning entries as selected by the Judge, respectively.
2. Entries receiving first, second and third purchase awards become the property of the Corporation of the County of Huron and become part of the Huron County Art Bank.
3. Awards are presented at the Opening Reception of the Huron County Fine Art Show & Sale. (Date varies annually; coincides with event scheduling.)

Art Sales

1. Works on exhibition not receiving purchase awards may be offered for sale by the artist.
2. All works sold during the Huron County Fine Art Show & Sale are subject to a 20% commission applied by the Huron County Museum to the artist's purchase price, plus applicable taxes (GST & PST).
