Vehicle and Equipment Terms & Conditions

- The County of Huron has made every effort to correctly and conscientiously describe every vehicle and piece of equipment included in this sale. However, these descriptions are meant only as a guide and all buyers should inspect and examine the vehicles and equipment to their own satisfaction. No sale shall be cancelled or invalidated by reason of defect or inaccuracy of the lots, by reason of being incorrectly described in the catalogue or announced by the auctioneer and no liability shall be borne by the owners or the auctioneer in the respect of any defect or error.
- We DO NOT inspect these units prior to sale and all bidders and buyers must inspect the vehicles and equipment to their own satisfaction before bidding. All vehicles are sold without warranty or guarantee, either expressed or implied, on an "AS IS - WHERE IS BASIS" - WITH ALL DEFECTS and lie at the purchasers risk immediately.
- The highest bidder, as accepted by the auctioneer, is the purchaser and no purchaser shall revoke or retreat his/her bid. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
- The auctioneer reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and shall control the bidding at all times. Please listen for all conditions on each unit. In all cases the decision of the auctioneer is final.
- All vehicles and equipment are sold free and clear of any liens.
- The County of Huron and the Auctioneer are not responsible for injuries or accidents on the sale site. Please watch for moving vehicles!
- By bidding on a vehicle, I acknowledge that I understand, the vehicle is being sold "AS IS" and is not represented as being in a road worthy condition, mechanically sound or maintained at any guaranteed level of quality. The vehicle may not be fit for use as a means of transportation and may require substantial repairs at my expense.
- Item Numbers and Descriptions are subject to change.
- All used vehicles need work for safety certificates and or mechanical fitness and all bidders must inspect the units and vehicles to their own satisfaction before bidding!
- Any or all vehicles that are to be registered and licensed in Ontario, requires that the purchaser to obtain, at his or her expense, a clean air certificate in order to obtain plates for the vehicle if it applies.
- Full settlement to be made on day of sale, nothing to be removed until paid for in full and invoice received. PAYMENT: Cash, certified cheque, Bank draft, or equipment will be held for 10 business days for the cheques to clear at the bank. Cheques to be made payable to: THE COUNTY OF HURON. Purchases will not be released until all accounts are paid in full. A letter of guarantee will be accepted if the following is included: "Mr. or Mrs. (Customer Name) is a customer in good standing at our bank. We will guarantee the payment of cheques on his account (account number) up to (specify amount) dollars for purchase at your auction in Auburn on Saturday, September 17, 2011. We hereby agree that no stop payment will be issued in conjunction with this letter."
- It is the buyer's responsibility to supply the correct driver's license, dealer or RIN #'s, at time of payment.
- HST is applicable on all units, for all buyers!
- Insurance and equipment removal is the buyer's responsibility.
- No vehicles or trailers will be allowed in the yard until the conclusion of the sale. No stationary load is permitted until the end of the auction. The County of Huron staff will, at the sole risk of the buyer, assist in loading out non-rolling stock.
- You are responsible for your bidder's number.
