Public health experts estimate that there are 11 to 13 million cases of food borne illness, or food poisoning, in Canada every year. Many of these are caused by mistakes in food safety made by food service workers.
Unsafe food handling practices can result in negative publicity associated with food borne illness, legal fees, increased insurance costs and professional embarrassment. Can you afford to lose customers, your reputation, or your business as a result of food borne illness?
The Certified Safe Food Handler Course is beneficial to anyone involved in food preparation and handling. Participants will improve skills in:
- Preparation of safe food products
- Increasing customer satisfaction
- Reducing food waste
This six hour course is taught by a Certified Public Health Inspector; an exam is held at the end of the class.
