It is important to get your flu shot early in the season.

Influenza starts circulating in Huron County in early fall. This year's flu shot will give you the protection you need and help stop the spread of infection to others.

What you need: Those especially at risk for serious illness or death and spreading to others are:
  • Wear short sleeves
  • Have something to eat before coming
  • Be prepared to wait for 15 minutes after
  • Having a driver's licence or OHIP card will speed up your registration
  • Children 6 months to 5 years of age
  • Health care workers
  • Those 65 years and over
  • Anyone with a chronic illness

Flu season lasts until spring. You can continue to get your free flu shot at your health care providers office or you can call the Huron County Health Unit at 1-877-837-6143 to make an appointment at our Tuesday afternoon immunization clinic.
