What is Helping Huron Smile?
Helping Huron Smile is dental health program for residents of Huron County who live
with low incomes.
The Health Unit is partnering with the County of Huron's Social Services department to
co-ordinate access for families in need.
Children living in low incomes may qualify for one of the free dental programs being
offered through Helping Huron Smile clinics.
What Dental Programs are Included Under Helping Huron Smile?
- Healthy Smiles Ontario (HSO)
Healthy Smiles Ontario is a program for kids 17 and under who do not have access to any
form of dental coverage.
- Children in Need of Treatment (CINOT)
A program for children who need emergency or urgent treatment. If your child has mouth pain now or an urgent oral health problem,
you may be able to get immediate dental help. Please contact the Huron County Health Unit for more information at 1.877.837.6143.
- Ontario Works
People receiving Ontario Works financial support have coverage for dependent children.
- Other Options
Children and adults who are not eligible for these programs may qualify for special
consideration depending on income and need.

Families in need are encouraged to call Helping Huron Smile at Social Services at
1.888.371.5718 to see if they qualify for any of the programs.
