Volunteers play an important role in Ontario Early Years programs in Huron County. Each year, dedicated and enthusiastic community volunteers contribute their time, effort and talent as they work along-side our staff to provide exciting programs and quality services to children and their parents and caregivers.
There are many ways to participate in Early Years and Childcare programs as a volunteer. Volunteering provides opportunities to work with our staff, interact with children and caregivers, and make a positive impact on your community and the life of a child.
We offer a number of volunteer positions for people who are able to commit to a regular, weekly schedule as well as activities for volunteers wishing to help on an on-call basis.
Volunteers assist our team with:
- Sharing their talents and expertise with our young children
- Office assistance (photocopying, preparing & sorting resources)
- Resource lending (maintaining toys & equipment)
- Playgroup support (assisting staff during children’s programs and parent and caregiver groups)
- Special projects
