Huron County supports children with special needs through contracts with community agencies. This program assists families and children with special needs to maximize their learning opportunities by providing individualized programs, support and services within the child care environment.

The services offered to each family vary depending upon the child's needs; including developmental, physical, communicative, or social and emotional difficulties.

Funding is provided for staff, equipment, supplies and services for children with special needs, up to the age of 18 years, so that they may participate in licensed child care programs (private-home child care or centre-based child care).
