How do I apply for a job at the County of Huron?
Search our current list of job postings to see if there are any positions that match your interest and qualifications. If you find a job that you’re interested in, submit a cover letter and resume to:

Applications may be submitted by fax to 519.524.4172, or email to humanresources [at] huroncounty.ca. Remember to indicate which position you are interested in.
Who do I address my cover letter to?
You do not have to specify an individual on your cover letter; supervisors vary depending on the position posted. We encourage you to submit a cover letter that outlines your experience, skill, education and accomplishments, along with your resume. Be sure to include the position for which you are applying.
What is the best format to use for my resume?
We request cover letters and resumes be submitted as Portable Document Format (PDF) attachments.
May I apply for more than one position at a time?
Yes, you are welcome to apply for all positions that match your qualifications. However, you must apply to each position individually.
How do I know if you received my application?
All applications submitted by email will receive an auto-reply message confirming receipt of your application.
Is my information safe? Who can access it?
If you have applied for a specific posting, your resume will be given to the hiring supervisor responsible for that position. They may share the information with other hiring managers (the hiring panel) in order to make selections based on education, experience and skills. Human Resources will then contact only those individuals selected for an interview. Information is collected solely for the purpose of job selection under the provisions of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
How do I find out about the status of my application?
Only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted.
Can I apply after the closing date?
The closing date is listed on each job posting; applications must be received no later than 4:30 PM on the closing date. Late applications will not be accepted.
What is your interview process?
Only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted. Applicants will be interviewed by the hiring panel; you will have an opportunity to share information about yourself and obtain more information about the position and the County. Job-specific assessment tools may be part of the selection process.
How do I withdraw my application?
Please send a written request to withdraw your application/resume to the Human Resources department by mail, email or fax.
I don’t see a posted job opportunity that interests me. Can I submit my resume for future opportunities?
Yes, however all resumes/applications received will only be kept for 6 months. In your cover letter please specify what type of work you are interested in. We also encourage you to frequently visit the website, or subscribe to our RSS feed, and apply directly to any postings in which you are interested.
How long does it take to fill a position?
Positions are generally filled within 3 to 4 weeks; however this time may be extended if necessary.
