Respite care provides short term relief to caregivers who are providing care to chronic or disabled family or community members.

Huronview has two respite rooms, one in the secure unit and one in the general unit. Huronlea has one respite room in the general unit. The longest booking for respite care is 60 days at one time, with a maximum of 90 days per year per individual.

The family physician is responsible for medications and orders while the applicant is in the Home. This ensures consistency of care for the person while they are with us and when they return to their own home.
