 Huron County Community Home Child Care is always looking for individuals who are interested in developing their own child care business. If you meet the requirements, professional support staff can assist in developing a home child care business in your own home.
Licensed Home Child Care Providers must:
- Be an adult, 18 years of age or over
- Receive immunization as required by the Medical Officer of Health
- Provide a successful criminal reference check for each adult member of the household
- Follow the regulations of the Day Nurseries Act
- Provide a suitable location and space that has been approved by a Home Child Care supervisor
- Submit a written application, including three references and evidence of your own homeowners or tenants insurance policy covering contents and liability
As a provider, you are self-employed, contracted to Huron County Community Home Child Care to provide child care in your own home for a maximum of 5 children from infants to 12 years of age. Providers are carefully selected and visited regularly by Home Child Care staff to ensure that they continue to meet government standards in delivering quality child care programs and safety.
Huron County Community Home Child Care will provide:
- Training workshops and newsletters
- Additional resources and activities to enhance your program
- Monthly visitations (both planned and unplanned)
- Quarterly home safety inspections
